An Important Message about How the Corona Virus May Affect Your Taxes

Dear Clients,
We hope you are all staying healthy and safe while we all do our part to combat the Coronavirus. We believe it is important to keep all of our clients informed about major changes that will impact your tax returns. Please take the time to read all of the bullet points below as they may impact you.
• We currently are still open for clients to drop off and pick up their tax documents. Given the evolving nature of this crisis, we can’t guarantee the office will stay open, but we’re prepared to continue working on your tax returns from our homes, if that becomes necessary.
• The Client Portal is available for all that would prefer to use it. If you’ve never used this site, call or email our office and we can set you up. Through our secure portal, you can upload and download tax documents safely. We have the option to electronically sign your tax return and pay for our services online.
• We are not allowing in office meetings during this time. If you would like to go over your tax return, we will still be available for scheduled conference calls, but for your safety and ours, we are limiting the amount of close contact we will have with our clients.
• The IRS has announced an extension of time to pay your taxes. This is not an extension of time to file your tax return. All individual tax returns are still due on April 15, 2020, but you have until July 15, 2020 to pay any tax due. This applies to amounts owed with your 2019 tax return and first quarter estimated tax payments.
• Massachusetts has not (yet) made similar announcements, if they do, we will inform you.
Thank you for your continued confidence in us and we wish you and your family the best.
